This course provides a comprehensive overview of the medical issues that arise in workers' compensation claims. Led by Michael P. Del Bueno, Esquire, an experienced attorney specializing in insurance defense and workers’ compensation law, this course covers the differentiation between new, pre-existing, and work-aggravated injuries and conditions, as well as the complexities of mental health issues such as PTSD and depression in the context of workers' compensation.
Participants will explore case studies, learn about the importance of medical records, understand the role of independent medical examinations (IMEs), and gain strategies for effectively navigating the battle of the experts.
The course also delves into spinal injuries and the challenges of diagnosing and treating such conditions within workers' compensation cases.

Mike graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in 1992 and received his law degree from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, in 1996. Since being admitted to the Virginia Bar in October 1996, Mike has practiced primarily in the area of insurance defense and workers’ compensation law.
