About this course
Desired and Future State Process Mapping is a course that teaches employees how to visually describe and map workflows using proper symbols and arrows. In mapping the ‘desired state,’ employees will be able to describe and communicate processes in a concise and visually appealing way, thereby creating value-add across the organization. The course also teaches participants how successful design and implementation of desired state maps enables organizations to improve productivity, customer satisfaction, service quality, and ultimately employee satisfaction.
By the end of this course, participants will have learned how to map processes at three levels of detail (Level 1, 2, and 3 process maps); identify potential problem areas; differentiate between cycle and lead time; define the components of lead time; review and analyze ‘as-is’ process maps; and analyze and dissect current state process maps for improvement. They will also learn how to calculate process efficiency, distinguish between value-added and non-valued activities, map desired state process flows, and use process mapping to facilitate continuous process improvements across the organization.
